Chloe Coss and her family will never stop fighting, and it seems neither will the community behind them, supporting them all the way.

Last year the one year old Tamworth girl and her family received the worst news imaginable, when Chloe was diagnosed with very rare and aggressive cancer, and given just a 20 per cent chance of survival.
Chloe’s cousin Lisa Thomas has launched a gofundme page to raise money for the Tamworth family, and has been a driving force behind several other fundraisers and community events.
Last Sunday was the first night in four weeks that little Chloe didn’t spend in John Hunter Hospital. After overcoming liver failure caused by the extent of chemotherapy drugs she got to spent a much cherished night with her parents Barry and Shiralee at Ronald McDonald House.
Unfortunately Barry and Shiralee haver had to make the heartbreaking decision to temporarily leave Chloe’s siblings, six year old Lexi, and six month old Noah with family in Tamworth, while they stay with Chloe 24/7 in Newcastle. It means that they have also had to leave their jobs.
“It has been touch and go for the last four weeks – it is just heartbreaking,” Mrs Thomas said.
“Now we just hope that her bloods come back alright so she can start chemo again.”
Last Friday the Men of League Foundation donated $500 worth of food vouchers to the family, while this Friday Amy Manwaring organised a bbq, raffles and cake sale at BUPA Aged Care after reading of the families plight.
For the Men of League, the $500 is just the beginning according to tamworth President Kevin Robinson.
“Locally we are able to authorise up to $500 in immediate assistance, but we will be applying for further assistance with head office in the near future,” he said.
“We would like to do anything we can to help – whether that be pay a month’s rent, or a couple of car payments, an electricity bill or some rates notices or something like that.
“The family are also considering some treatment in the USA is they are able, so we will look at helping there if we can as well.”
Fortunately the MoL are not the only sporting organisation that are backing the Coss’, according to Mrs Thomas.
“We have had to reach out to the community, and have had some amazing support, both locally and Australia wide,” she said.
“The Tigers, Roosters and Panthers have all got on board to help with auction items and support, and so has Guy Sebastian.
“The food vouchers from MoL will go a long way towards helping with day to day living – it all really helps.”
