Wests Tigers boss tells all clubs to go bush
The Tigers’ Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Justin Pascoe, was in Tamworth ahead of Saturday’s historic premiership clash with the Newcastle Knights and challenged his rivals to duly take elite footy into regional towns.
“My personal view is it should be a responsibility of all NRL clubs to go regional,” Pascoe said.

Scully Park ‘better than any ground in Sydney’
THERE isn’t a single blade of grass out of line at Scully Park, which has been prepped to perfection for Saturday night’s NRL match, with the Wests Tigers taking on the Newcastle Knights.
“I can’t believe how good it is. We’ve very happy with it, he’s done a magic job, particularly given that Tamworth has gone through a long dry spell,” Wests Entertainment Group CEO Rod Laing said.
Tamworth’s taxi fleet put pedal to the medal
“THE board met and decided that given the social importance of what’s happening, and the expected surge in demand, we would have every taxi available for this weekend,” Long-time Tamworth taxi operator Greg Rowland said.
“We’ve also told our dispatch centre to be extra perceptive when people are booking a taxi, given there are a lot of people from out of town, they may not no exactly where they are.”
Wests Tigers could play more games at Tamworth
SATURDAY’S round seven NRL game in Tamworth might not be the last, if a partnership between the Wests Tigers and Wests Entertainment Group goes ahead.
With preparations in full swing ahead of the sellout weekend match, Wests Entertainment Group CEO Rod Laing has revealed his hopes for a partnership between the two bodies to secure NRL games for future seasons in the city.
