“It is a motor vehicle accident. It’s anticipated there may be mechanical evidence required,” he told the court.
The case has been adjourned to June to allow investigators more time to compile the evidence and serve it on the defence team for Correy. The court heard Correy will engage a barrister, with the matter to be passed to another solicitor.
“Bail is to continue,” magistrate Michael Holmes said.
Police allege Correy was driving dangerously when he was behind the wheel of a BMW sedan that collided head-on with a taxi on the Thunderbolts Way about 10.45pm on December 23.
Correy’s 25-year-old passenger died at the scene while he was also taken to hospital for his injuries and later released.
The taxi driver and her passenger were also treated in hospital for various injuries.
