The annual Pedal The Peel road-ride boasted one of its biggest field of entrants in recent years and, while the final total hasn’t been counted, event chairman Terry Robinson said the 2018 event was on-track to pool more than $30,000.
The funds will be equally distributed to local organisations Youth Insearch, Billabong Clubhouse and Can Assist.

There were rides catering to every skill level, ranging from 16km to 100km distances, which Mr Robinson saw as one of the reasons behind cycling’s rising popularity.
“You don’t have to be a super-sportsperson to do it,” he said.
“You can become quite good at it after doing it for a few weeks.”
