In round one of the Andrew Johns Cup on Saturday, the Tigers defeated the Central Coast Roosters 40-4.
In the later under-18 clash at the same venue, the Tigers downed the Roosters 24-6.
Farrer student Max Altus was singled out for praise after starting out of position at fullback before moving to his preferred hooker role.
Altus crossed for a try in the dominate team display.
Scott Bone, the CRL’s Greater Northern area manager, said Altus did a “great job”.
“For the team, he was happy to play where they needed him to play,” Bone said.
“It benefited the team. It’s great to have players like that.”
Bone also praised the Tigers’ front-row, including fellow Farrer student Alek Hall.
Atlus and Hall were both part of the Knights’ development squad over summer but did not land SG Ball Cup gigs.
Bone said the Knights thought it would be best for their development to play in this tournament.
He said the under-16 Tigers gelled really well as a team, which was especially pleasing given their lack of training runs because the long distances the player were spread out.
