The Walcha Race track was packed with fashionable fillies and their partners who came to have a great day out with friends and family on this local half day public holiday.
Sharon Lenton from Thoroughbred Events Australia, who hosted this year’s Fashion in the Fields, said the standard of dress was on par with much bigger race meetings.
“All the finalists in today’s Fashion in the Fields competition could compete interstate,” she said.
“The community should be really proud as I host many of these events around the country and the entrants here in Walcha are very high calibre.”
Even those who weren’t seeking a prize made the effort to look the part as they enjoyed a punt and a drink or two.
