The music icon flew into Tamworth where she spent the day with students from the CMAA Academy of Country Music and shared her tips and tricks of the trade with the group of aspiring stars breathing in every word.
“It’s something I look forward to and always like to start my year with,” Chambers said.
“I feel like I’ve been in the industry a long time and the industry has been very good to me and I feel as an artist I owe it back to the industry to do it aswell.
“I do love that side of country music. I always work with the young musicians as well and talk about life on the road and talk about how to write charts.
“I come up here and hang out with the students for awhile during the day, do a bunch of workshops and talk about how I’ve worked my career – which is not always right and not always the way that everyone does it, but hopefully they can learn from some of my mistakes as well.”
Chambers will perform her only Festival show at Wests’ on Thursday, January 25 and is up for six golden guitar awards this year.
