While the trainers had spent hours upon hours preparing their horses for the Gunnedah Jockey Club’s Christmas Hams Race Day meeting on Saturday, punters also put plenty of time and effort into making sure they looked their best for the big day.

Midway through the day, the crowd gathered around the stage to watch some of the best-dressed ladies and gentleman vie for the Fashions in the Field crown.
The crowd swelled throughout the day with more than 3000 punters walking through the gate to enjoy the day out which, along with the Fashions in the Fields and the racing, had activities for kids and live music amongst other things.
