Gunnedah boxer Wade Ryan already has a rematch on his mind after his tough 10-round loss to Tim Tszyu at The Star in Sydney on Sunday.

Tszyu won via a unanimous decision in the WBC Asian Boxing Council Continental Super Welterweight Title fight but Ryan had the upper hand early.
Ryan landed an overhand left in the first round to drop the son of boxing legend Kostya Tszyu.
“We were working that. He’s got a bit of reach and the left hand is always good against an orthodox opponent,” Ryan said of the knockdown punch.
“It landed in the right spot but I couldn't quite catch him again.”
Tszyu recovered and ultimately won the fight.
However, Ryan believed he was a touch unlucky in the tough encounter.
“We were confident after the fight,” the southpaw said.
“We thought we’d done enough to win considering I scored a knockdown in the first.
“We knew it was going to be close but also tough against his [Tszyu] name and in his hometown.”

Tough was just one word that described how the fight was fought.
A crowd-pleaser. Hard. Entertaining.
They were other ways punters described the fight and are reasons why Ryan would be glad to hop in the ring again with Tszyu.
“I’d definitely be up for it and I think the Aussie fans would like to see it,” Ryan said.
“A lot of people were calling it the fight of the night.
“To say you've been 10 rounds with one of the best prospects coming through and the name – it’s a buzz.”
Ryan knows exactly where he needs to improve as well.
You learn from each fight and if we get the chance to rematch I’d be a lot busier throughout the whole round and show more dominance.

For now, Ryan is looking forward to a couple weeks of rest.
The 27-year-old will take it easy before hitting the gym with trainer David Syphers where they plan to campaign in the super welterweight division.
“There’s probably a few more opportunities and we might be more dominant at that weight,” Ryan said.
Ryan now holds a record of 14 wins and six losses.
