This new position will be an important and complementary addition to the extensive range of superb and wonderful services and support that is delivered by highly skilled practitioners to BreastCare patients in our Northwest area.

In January of this year it came to the attention of the Serendipity Tamworth Committee, that although the McGrath Foundation was benefiting from the donation of tens of thousands of dollars annually from our local Tamworth community, (we) were still 'not on the radar' to receive a McGrath nurse placement. Considering that the McGrath Foundation receives a Federal Government subsidy of more than $20 million over a 4 or 5 year period, wonderful and generous corporate sponsorship and also various community donations, Serendipity Tamworth decided that it was now our community’s turn to be in receipt of some of that McGrath BreastCare assistance.
Hence the commencement of the independent campaign we began in February, in order for our Tamworth community BreastCare patients, to benefit from this great service. We would like to thank Jye Segboar and the Tamworth Business Chamber for their support to Serendipity Tamworth in our campaign to raise awareness of this matter.
We also greatly appreciate the terrific and generous widespread community support we received and also the support from all media representatives across all platforms, in particular Chris Bath at the Northern Daily Leader. McGrath Foundation is in the enviable position of providing this wonderful and necessary service to our fine city and the surrounding district. Financially, the Serendipity Tamworth committee of 17 volunteer ladies could not ever sustain these costs, although we provide approximately $15000 worth of unpublicised services to Tamworth and the region's BreastCare patients, annually.
The Serendipity Tamworth Committee sincerely thanks the McGrath Foundation for their generosity of spirit in allocating a specialised BreastCare nurse to the Tamworth region, as will I am sure, those who will now directly benefit from this terrific service. What a great outcome!
