Tamworth MP Kevin Anderson and NSW Education Minister Rob Stokes official opened the program, which aims to empower and support female Indigenous students.
Tamworth High School principal Daniel Wilson said he hoped the Girls Academy created an environment within the school where all girls receive extra support and the programs they needed to help them achieve their full potential.
“The Girls Academy has a proven track record of improving attendance, engagement, completion of high school and transition into post-school destinations,” Mr Wilson said.
“I look forward to working with the Girls Academy to build a stronger school and a more robust community.”
