It is the annual Santa Crawl and it’s expected to see about 600 santas swarm the city with patrons raising money for Ronald McDonald House.
The event is organised by the Rotary Club of Tamworth First Light.
Organiser Chris Watson said Santas were travelling from as far as Armidale, Coonabarabran and Gunnedah for the event.
“We are expecting about 600 santas for the event and aiming to raise over $12 000 to help families who call Ronald McDonald House Tamworth their home away from home,” Mr Watson said.
The crawl will stop at a number of venues in the CBD including Wests’ Diggers from 4.45pm and moving onto the Post Office Hotel, Tudor Hotel, Imperial Hotel, Tamworth Hotel, The Courthouse Hotel and the Albert Hotel. The official after party will be held at the Imperial Hotel.
“We are very thankful to all of the pubs and clubs participating for their generous donations,” he said.
“We remind all the santas that it is a fundraiser and the event is in the spirit of Christmas so we ask all Santa's and his helpers to be good and stay on the nice list throughout the event.”
Tickets cost $15 and include venue entry and finger food at Wests’ at the conclusion of the crawl.
Tickets are available on the night from Head Santa or helpers from the Rotary Club of Tamworth First light manning the venue doors.
