Whatever side of the co-educational debate you are on, the diamond school system delivers a shining solution.
Calrossy Anglican School, in Tamworth, is a diamond school. Calrossy delivers an innovative compromise to the dilemma of gender specific education enhanced by 97 years of experience.
In diamond schools, boys and girls are educated together through the primary years, before being separated in the senior classroom.
Throughout that entire time boys and girls have separate boarding facilities, conveniently located across three sites in Tamworth.
“The key factor is we believe boys and girls develop at different times and have different learning needs – the diamond system answers those needs at the right time,” says the principal of Calrossy Anglican School, Elisabeth Jackson.
The school’s Quality Teaching and Learning Co-ordinator, Mrs Penny Small, says Calrossy is diamond in more ways than one.
“We are striving for excellence in education. A learning environment that recognises the differences and strengths of every boy and girl,” says Mrs Small.
“We are aiming for a personalised learning experience for every student, every lesson, everyday.”
