The popular venue, located within the Quality Hotel Powerhouse has received a 1 Glass rating for its extensive wine list in the 2016 Gourmet Traveller Wine Awards.
The rating, is highly regarded by wine connoisseurs across the nation and is the first to be awarded in the Tamworth region.
Food and Beverage Manager Daine Cooper submitted his wine list for the very first time this year and was delighted by the recognition.
“This is a significant achievement – we work very hard to offer our diners the quality and range that people often only associate with an upmarket city restaurant. Regional diners are highly knowledgeable about food, wine and provenance is very important to them”, he said.
“Our wine list has 188 wines with 66 by the glass. We offer diners the chance to be adventurous and to sample a range of styles from regions not only in Australia, but around the globe.”
The Workshop has been preparing high quality food and wine more than 25 years.
