The Northern Inland Credit Union-sponsored club held the Country Capital Cup in the Tamworth Regional Entertainment and Conference Centre (TRECC) because of the large number of participants and families visiting Tamworth from all parts of Australia, coach Jan McGinnity said.
"The competition was held over two full days and a social event was held on Saturday night where gymnasts learnt line dancing and played a variety of games aimed at introducing gymnasts from different clubs to each other.
"We moved all our equipment across to the TREC and then had to move it back when the competition finished.
"The club has the most amazing parents and friends who worked long hours moving everything and is extremely lucky to have so many volunteers who worked to make the event such a success.
"We enjoyed lots of success on the competition arena, with 15 girls becoming overall cup champions and our gymnasts winning close to 100 apparatus medals which was quite pleasing for the coaches as there were many Australian champions amongst the competitors.
"There were also lots of NSW champions and team representatives competing in the Country Capital Cup.
Most successful competitor from the Tamworth club was NSW representative Julia Hannaford competing on Level Ten. She placed first on vault bars beam and floor to take the overall champion cup.
Maisie Wilde and Amber Downes were not far behind her with Maisie taking home two gold, one silver and one bronze medal and Amber bagging one gold, one silver and two bronze to take out their overall level five divisions.
Caitlin Ham, competing on level seven, picked up two gold and a silver medal.
Lexi May, Georgia Goodwin and Analise Tighe all took home second overall champion cups on their respective level five divisions. Josie Douglas, competing on level six, and Georgia Pryer, competing on level eight, both took home third placing overall champion cups.
Level four saw Jorja McCluand and Tori Monaghan take overall champion cups whilst Chloe Bateup managed the same on level three.
Aaliyah Morley and Erin Allan finished second overall champions to earn their cups on level four whilst Sophie Weekes came third overall on level four and Piper Swalwell did the same on level three.
"All in all, the club was very pleased with the results of the Country Capital Cup and the competition as a whole was very successful and brought close to 2000 people to the city to compete or spectate," McGinnity said.
"Most clubs have praised the event and promised to return to Tamworth next year to compete in the premier event on the calendar.
"The next big carnival for the club will see level five and six girls travelling to Sydney this weekend to contest the NSW State Championships and we wish all the girls well," McGinnity said.
