The only one listed for the Tamworth electorate is Timbumburi Public School, which is offering up tasty fare from 8am, when the polls open.
The school’s P&C Association vice-president Ray Aslin said the sausage sizzle and cake stall would be one of the organisation’s major fundraisers.
Timbumburi will offer bacon-and-egg rolls for breakfast from 8am until they run out, which will then be superseded by beef-and-gravy rolls and sausages for lunch.
For the sweet tooths, there will be cakes, and tea and coffee to wash them down with.
“A lot of people have donated cakes and slices to the stalls,” Mr Aslin said.
All the money raised goes back into facilities and educational items for the students.
“In the last year or two, we’ve bought new computers, new sheds, new iPads and ukuleles for the kids – we’ve been spending a lot of money. Whatever we make goes back to the students.”
