The committee held a working bee this week ahead of what will be four big days of rodeo and campdraft action.
It all starts on Monday December 29 with the encouragement and ladies’ drafts.
“Most campdrafts have been called off because of the drought,” committee member Peter Kelly said.
“We’ve been promised 2400 head of cattle.”
Entries are taken on the day.
The campdrafting will stretch over four days, with the juvenile, junior and maiden draft on Tuesday, open and open for open on New Year’s Eve and novice events on New Year’s Day.
The rodeo component will start with the novice events on Tuesday.
Then it’s the big New Year’s rodeo, getting underway at 4pm.
Kelly said entries were about par to previous years.
The saddle bronc, particularly, has attracted a lot of interest.
“We’ve got 28 open saddlebronc riders,” Kelly said.
