When the famous red-and-green of South Sydney run onto the field for tomorrow's NRL decider, Tamworth's Booby family will have more at stake than most.
Even for a footy club that evokes intense passion in its supporters, the Boobys stand out.
Brothers Josh and Scott have had red-and- green running through their veins since they could walk.
Josh sports a Souths' tattoo on his forearm and his wife Terrie and five children are all rabid Rabbits' fans.
They attend live matches whenever they can, forming a one-family "Rabbit warren" in the crowd.
Scott and his family are no less passionate.
Their Coledale home is a shrine to their favourite team, festooned with banners, flags, balloons and streamers.
According to Scott's wife Jodie, his fanaticism for his club can sometimes stray into the paranoid. "He's stopped going to his mum and dad's house for Friday night games because he thought they were bad luck and he won't even allow me to change the baby until after the game sometimes because he think it's bad luck," she said. "When they lose, if anyone brings it up they get into big trouble."
Scott prefers the term "passion" to "paranoia".
"They just mean everything to me, really," he said. "I'm never confident in such a big game but I reckon they're a huge chance."
Scott and Jodie will spend Sunday night hosting a party at their home, while Terrie and Josh will attend the match live.
The NRL grand final will screen on NBN on Sunday and kick-off at 7.20pm.
