Former Sydney Roosters half Richie Allan and his cousin Aaron Allan are organising the day to help out the family of their mate, who was tragically killed in an accident earlier this year.
Richie Allan now captains the West Belconnen side in Canberra Raiders Cup competition in the ACT and Aaron is a Werris Creek first grader, but both were friends of Wilson's and came up with the benefit day to help out.
"I grew up with Daniel," Richie Allan said.
"Hopefully we can raise a bit of money for Daniel's family.
"Every little bit helps and it's only $3 to get in to see two good games of football."
Quirindi is also expected to play Murrurundi in a curtain- raiser to the main game to make it a double header, while there will be an official function afterwards at the Quirindi Pavilion.
"We've got a couple of jerseys to raffle off," Richie Allan said.
"I've got a signed South Sydney jersey and Anthony Mundine is giving us a pair of boxing gloves.
"With a bit of luck he might even be able to get up for the day as special guest."
While his cousin will lead the visiting side, Aaron Allan will lead the Walhollow team, likely to include many current and former Werris Creek Magpies, Quirindi Grasshoppers and Walhollow Warriors who knew and played footy with Daniel.
"They'll be all his mates," Aaron Allan said.
Richie Allan said he would be bringing a strong squad for the game and would be taking the hit-out very seriously.
"We won our competition last year," he said.
"It'll be our last trial game before our comp starts and we'll certainly be bringing a pretty good side.
"There's a lot of players pushing for first grade and young players pushing for Raiders Under 20s. It won't be a muckaround game for us."
Richie Allan played his junior football in the Walhollow area before making the move to Sydney with brother Shane, who is now a Gunnedah Bulldog, and Jase Holland, now at South Newcastle.
The game on April 9 will be at the Quirindi Sportsground.
