Play School Up Late – a special event just for grown-ups, which will again feature Tamworth’s own multi-award winning actor Phillip Quast – will be held on Thursday, March 29.
Gallery director Bridget Guthrie said Quast was embracing the opportunity to spend more time with hometown fans.

“He was warmly welcomed at the exhibition opening last month and we are excited he was willing to return to the gallery to feature in this special event,” she said.
Ms Guthrie said Play School Up Late would be “a fun and social spin on the usual exhibition experience” where adults could take a step back to days gone by and celebrate all things Play School.
“There’s a quiz to find a Play School champion, craft activities, and there will be wine and cheese,” she said.
“Our adult Play Schoolers will also learn more about our special guest’s recent career achievements and hear him recall memories from his years as a Play School presenter during a Q&A session led by ABC Radio presenter Kelly Fuller.”
Tickets for Play School Up Late are available from the gallery website, cost $20 per person and include a wine on arrival and finger food.
Tamworth one of two
Tamworth is one of only two NSW venues to host Happy Birthday Play School: Celebrating 50 Years, a travelling exhibition from the National Museum of Australia developed in collaboration with the ABC.
It includes favourites of the much-loved program such as the iconic rocket and flower clocks, the windows and the toys: Big Ted, Little Ted, Humpty and Jemima.
There are also archival audio and video clips of past programs showing presenters through the years.
There are a variety of workshops and events for all ages and abilities, most free, on the events page on the gallery’s website.
Ms Guthrie said hundreds of visitors of all ages had been to see the exhibition.
