School children and teachers from all over the region are heading to their local pools as swimming carnivals take place.
St Joseph's Primary School West Tamworth jumped in the pool to compete on Tuesday, February 13.

Not only were the students keen to do their best in the pool but the day also provided a chance for the children to escape the heat.
The timing of the swimming carnival was just right for the students as the temperature tipped over 38 degrees on Tuesday.
