The artists behind our cover caricature has been travelling to Tamworth from Sydney for the festival for several years and always draws a crowd with his expertise with ink on t-shirts.
This was the case as he drew the musicians who have six nominations each for tonight’s Golden Guitars.
Mr Abergel has travelled the world doing caricatures and while he was once a regular on the festival circuit, these days Tamworth is the lone survivor of his days on the road.
More than 15 years after starting his career as an airbrush artist he continues to wow festival crowds with his quirky and fun creations.
“Everything is there,” he said.
“I just pretty much copy detail by detail. I look at the eyes, start with the eyes, and try to grasp the impression of the person.”
