Katey’s day two at #TCMF2018
“What’s that music? Are we back on stage yet?” Oh... the alarm clock! The pain of opening my eyes at 6am quickly fades as I realize what the day ahead has in store.
7am into Makeup, 8.30am out to my dress fitting with the amazing Cindy Vogels from Racy and Lucky. It’s Country Music Cocktails day! By the time I got to the venue Shayne had dragged himself out of bed and gone through the strenuous task of getting ready the only way a guy could - shower, brush hair, grab guitar.
We met at the venue alongside many other musicians, all waiting with excitement. Walking out to perform our song, in such an intimate setting with such a supportive audience was always going to be rewarding and this was amplified by our first CD sale for the festival!
Yes, performing is always a magical feeling, but today gave something else. To be surrounded by SO many talented artists and see them pour their heart and soul into their 4 minute song was very humbling. It’s great to know there are so many of us out there all wanting the same thing, all paddling the same direction. Here is to all the artists and new friends, keep fighting the good fight.

How Abbie Ferris experienced Day Two
I’m back again leader readers! My second day at the festival did not disappoint. I am not usually a morning person but when the alarm went off at 7am, despite a big day yesterday, I jumped out of bed I was out of bed and pumped for the day ahead.
Today I was lucky enough to perform alongside many other talented acts, at the Country Music Cocktails at the SSS BBQ Barn. This event is every girl’s dream. I spent the morning putting on makeup, trying to get my hair to play nice and having the thrill of being fitted for my custom made Racy & Lucky gown. I instantly fell In love with my dress, which was perfect.
It was a really great feeling to be able to rock up to the event with my guitar and see all the other artists dressed up ready to perform as well. It was also extremely nerve racking. I performed a song I co-wrote recently called ‘For a Moment'. This song will probably be my debut single and I’m so grateful that I was able to perform it and see people’s reactions.
This event allowed me to mingle with other artists and listen to more country music. I can’t wait to do more of it over the festival because I just can’t get enough!
