The Tamworth Country Music Festival party got off to a kicking start at the Cattleman Steakhouse on Thursday afternoon, when the venue played host to the welcoming showcase.

It was just one of a number of events hosted prior to the official start of the 10 day festival on Friday.
The buskers have moved into Peel Street, the camping grounds are filling up fast with visitors from right across the land, and the atmosphere is all country.
On Friday night, the main stage in Toyota Park will host the official opening concert, featuring Judah Kelly, Travis Collins, Rachael Fahim, Troy Kemp, Aleyce Simmonds, Tori Forsyth & The Spurs, Gretta Ziller & Andrew Swift, Paul Costa, Mark Atkins, Tim Scanlan, Simply Bushed, CMAA Academy Graduates and direct from Canada The Dungarees. Plus spectacular fireworks.
Crowds are expected to start taking up prime positions from early afternoon.
The action goes live on stage from 7pm – so make sure you don’t miss out.
