She will take to the stage on Sunday, Janury 21 to battle it out against the other hopefuls to take out the 2018 title.
She said the last year has been one of growth and success and she's looking forward to returning to Tamworth to showcase what she's learned.
The Queensland-born starlett released her debut album Further Than Forever in 2016.
"I've got a couple of gigs going at FanZone and the Southgate Songwriters," she said.
"I'm very excited for that and a spot at the Pig and Tinder Box on the 22nd.
"I'm looking forward to cathing up with some of my friends at gigs because it's the one time of the year that we get to see eachother."
Wilson said she was proud of the album and its feedback and she's looking forward to releasing some new material in the coming year.
"I'm hoping to go to Nashville and do some songwriting and start preparing ideas and songs for the next project," she said.
"I feel in the last 12-months I've really owned who I am as an artist and I know my music, my sound and my style now.
"I'm excited to see where it goes from here and I hope I can keep building my audience."
