One of the best ways to get a feel for the festival is to take in all the atmosphere of the buskers on Peel St. There’s hundreds of them over the 10 days of the festival, with the numbers swelling on the two weekends.
You won’t find them in any program, but they are an essential “must see” to kick off your festival journey.

In the heart of Peel Street they set out their wares … one man bands, pre-teen first-timers belting out early Taylor Swift tunes, even the rarity of a pedal-steel guitar impresario (taught himself as nobody does any more).

If you get on down to Toyota Park (Bicentennial Park) each evening for the free concerts you’ll get to see cameo performances from more than 100 big named acts.
