Thousands of locals were expected to attend the Tamworth Jockey Club race day on Tuesday as the official November festivities got into full swing.

The event was certainly a festive affair with Fashions on the field showcasing the best dressed men and women in the land.

Book makers were gearing up for a busy day of betting as punters browsed the form guide and tried to back a winner.
