At Tuesday night’s ordinary meeting, first-term councillor Glenn Inglis moved an amendment seeking more information, but emphasised he was not against the move.
Cr Inglis highlighted the potential future “unknown costs” of the plan.
“There’s a strong likelihood of a stage two,” he said and estimated it could cost hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Cr Inglis also said he wasn’t convinced about council’s legal responsibilities over the bats.
Cr Russell Webb said the bats were the NSW government’s issue and they should be fully funding a solution. The amendment was carried but deputy mayor Helen Tickle aired her disappointment with poor councillor attendance at a flying-fox workshop.
