The Bendemeer Colours of Autumn Art and Craft Show is on this week and boasts more than 300 exhibits across several categories at the Bendemeer Community Hall.

Organisers say the quality of exhibits this year is exceptional and have urged members of the community to come and admire artwork from across a variety of mediums.
Over the past nine years the committee has raised $15,000 from the show, which has been directed to scores of charities.
Last year the committee was able to fund part of an upgrade to the kitchen at the community hall with hopes this year’s funds raised will help finish off the kitchen with the rest donated to a good cause.
Show committee treasurer and publicity officer, Nicole McFarlane said the art show will end on Sunday.
“Over the last three or four years people have walked out and have said how good the quality of the work is,” Mrs McFarlane said.
“This is my ninth show and I’m always impressed with what comes in, but we’ve had a lot of new artists this year and I’m thrilled because the work is different.”
The big event is run in conjunction with the Tamworth Taste Festival and a special category, “Taste of Tamworth”, was won by Dianne Betts, whose painting showcased fresh produce, including wine, grapes, cheese, eggs, apples and chicken from around the district.
The art show will remain open this week from 10am to 4pm up until Saturday and 10am to 3pm on Sunday.
Entry is $5 for adults and free for children.
Artists in residence this weekend are Helen Phillips from Uralla and James White of Armidale who are well known for their work in the region.
