A NEW junior category has been included in this year’s Bendemeer Art & Craft Exhibition to help augment its inclusion as part of the Taste Tamworth Festival.

The exhibition, subtitled The Colours of Autumn, had really blossomed in recent years, one of the organisers, Margaret Hemmings said.
This was now the third year it had become a full 10-day event including two full weekends, Mrs Hemmings said.
They had a special section called A Taste of Tamworth to link in with the increasingly popular 10-day Taste Tamworth Festival, which started yesterday and is being held around the Tamworth Regional Council region.
The new junior category is for 13-to 16-year olds (there is already an under-12 category) and the idea is to get teens painting paper plates with images of their favourite food to link in with Taste Tamworth.
Mrs Hemmings said the exhibition, now in its 33rd year, features art, photography, textiles and sculpture.
“It’s started to be well recognised,” Mrs Hemmings said.
“The quality’s excellent – we’ve got some really interesting sculptures (this year).”
Exhibition opening hours are 10am-4pm between April 4 and 13.
